Am i Missing something with the Kap for Puljujarvi trade? Everybody is doing it now and I can't figure out the reason EDM would do it?

There has been rumours that EDM is interested in moving Pulju for equal (or close to) salary and a former 1st round pick. I also think this trade helps both teams.

Kapanen has speed. McDavid. Same reason everyone wanted Athanasiou on the Oilers. Fits the narrative, Kapanen's hockey IQ is also lacking

Well it definitely helps the Pens haha - I'm all for it. I mean maybe they would - just seems weird for them to accept a worse player for probably similar money

Here is the thing as an Oilers fan who likes Puljujarvi I’m not a fan of the trade however I get it. Puljujarvi can’t live up to expectations here in Edmonton and a large part of the fan base lets him Know it. Kapanen would be a 3rd line filler and we need a stay at home right shot defenceman so I can see it working

So why would EDM make the trade - that's what I was trying to figure out
