I think Jets want a RHD spec not LHD maybe Barron?

There's no way a PLD trade happens without lots of salary going back. This isnt close. Habs dont need to do this. This simply helps the Jets solve their problem.

Take out Norlinder, who as an LD has no value to Winnipeg and add Barron and Chevy is at least talking.

MTL can't move another RD without receiving one in return. Could swap for a F prospect but Barron likely doesn't go anywhere.

Here's the thing, MTL isn't looking to pry PLD from WPG. PLD wants out, MTL is trying to accommodate within what works for MTL. If the price is outrageous then MTL moves on and continues their rebuild with the hundreds of other players in the NHL. We'll pay what works for us or just pass on the whole situation for now and try again when he becomes UFA, if he still fits on the roster by then.

Actually Montreal was the team that contacted the Jets about him, PLD also wants out in the future not rn he would be 100% content with playing the next 2 seasons and I think Hughes will definitely overpay for a player like Dubois

Sure, MTL contacted the Jets about him...because he has been vocal about his wishes to play in MTL long term. Doesn't mean he's going to sell house though, he just wouldn't be doing his job proper if he didn't inquire and attempt to make a deal. PLD went to the draft because he believed he was going to become a Hab that day, he clearly wants to be a Canadien sooner than later. Hughes may overpay but it won't be a wild overpay if he does. MTL isn't in a rush to make this deal happen
