That trade would be fair without the retention. Flyers need to save as much space as possible so Chucky can blow it on another 4th liner, going to have to sweeten that with three years retaining $1.5 million

I’d say this is an overpay for Konecky, expecting some retention is fair.

If he has a year left sure but three years of retention and that package isn't gonna cut it.
