Tkachuk is going to be a Blue. Calgary just lost JG for nothing in return and they’re not going to let the same thing happen with Tkachuk after this year.

Tkachuk will not sign a long term deal with Calgary because he wants to come to St. Louis. He can sign a 1 year home town discount deal and then a long term deal after this year.

Yeah it does. You sign Tkachuk to 8 years at $9.25M AAV. Bring up Neighbours. While Torp is out, play Walker at the 3RW spot. Projected lineup is below, with $676,667 in cap space.

He only has 1 RFA year left. If all he’s willing to sign is a 1 year deal to reach UFA he could then walk like Gaudreau just did.

If Tkachuk was willing to sign long term with Calgary it would have already happened.

If Calgary can't sign him don't trade Kyrou. Vladi won't wave so whoever mentioned that, forget it. Move the big contract you have that doesn't have trade protection, O'Reilly. Sign Tkachuk, Thomas Kyrou long term. If you're picking up Tkachuk in a bidding war next season you're likely losing O'Reilly anyway. Move him with whatever picks it takes and one of Bolduc or Neighbours. They can flip O'Reilly at deadline with retention for another haul if they want or try to extend him.
