You got a source for that? I never heard that there was an actual offer on the table. I just heard that people were asking about Tkachuk and the Flames weren’t listening. I woulda taken 2oa + Holtz + Sharangovich if I knew Tkachuk wasn’t gonna sign long term though. I feel like Treliving shoulda set the day before the draft as the hard deadline for Tkachuk and Gaudreau to decide what they wanted to do (sign long term or sign the QO/leave respectively).

Hm, wish he knew what else was in the package. That way I could confidently curse out Treliving if Tkachuk ends up walking next summer 🙃 Cuz 2oa alone isn’t close, but if it was actually a fair package then he maybe shoulda pulled the trigger given what we know now about Gaudreau (and Treliving probably shouldn’t have given Gaudreau as much time to make his decision as he did given how pivotal these two players are to the success of the Flames).

At this pace Dubas will waive 7 players on the first day.. and they will all get claimed obviously.

Last year he waived a bunch non got claimed but after that one month where they went 14-2 or whatever all of a sudden everyone was claimed

Man it must be weird for guys to play for GMs that were former teammates of theirs. Fleury under Guerin, Vlasic under Grier, Kopitar/Quick under Blake, etc. Maybe a couple more. I wonder what that dynamic is like lol
