Not really could they get a better return probably but idrc threw it together to get them under cap my reasoning isnt wrong at all

Your reasoning is completely wrong, in your Kane trade you literally said "50% retained" but didn't actually retain 50% and instead traded away a fair value contract in Coleman plus assets for a 4th liner

Yes you can, before submitting the trade there is a "+" symbol next to the players name in the trade and that is for retention
