PLD Trade

Équipe: 2022-23 Rangers de New York

Description
I know Gauthier requested a trade but I don’t see the market for him unless you’re paying someone to get rid of him like I did with Nemeth.

Also I don’t think the asking price for PLD is going to be that high, he’s pretty much stated he won’t resign with Winnipeg so they don’t have as much bargaining leverage.

Biggest concern is signing K’Andre Miller next year but thankfully I’m just making these for fun.

And yes I recognize that 4th line is horrible.

Well Kakko isn’t getting 4 million bucks unless it’s an offer sheet. Rangers will either bridge him 2.5 ish or trade him. And PLD will get into the 7s on his next deal. So your money is probably close anyway

I like the PLD package but I don’t know if we can resign him without losing Miller or Laf. Unless you include Miller which we’d ultimately probably have to do in a trade for Dubois. Jmo. Not willing to fight over this lol

I don't think that value is far off for PLD, but it's not exactly an offer Chevy can't refuse, which is probably what it would take for WPG to move him now. The idea that WPG has no leverage is wrong though. The plan is probably to try and hang on to PLD, but if nothing changes after two seasons, he gets moved at the TDL for a really good haul, cause who wouldn't want to rent out PLD for a playoff run?

    Also, PLD's QO is $6M.

I came here to say this. I think the value isn’t far off, but like you said the idea that Winnipeg has 0 leverage is silly. Dubois has only stated he wants to test FA in 2024. In regards to Winnipeg he’s only had positive things to say, so I think there’s a misconception when it comes to what he said and what it means. For all we know, with a few moves and a rebound season he could sign long term in Winnipeg. If I was him I would’ve said the same thing, who would’ve wanted to commit long term to a team in turmoil with no head coach?

If I’m winnipeg I decline this deal, I’d rather see Dubois play another full year with Kyle Connor and raise his stock even more. Might be worth more next offseason than he is now lol.

I'd love PLD but if the starting point is Miller I'd probably pass. Unless it's PLD for Miller straight up, then MAYBE I'd be all good with it.

No chance Jets accept that but even more laughable is contract you gave PLD

That offer is pretty awful for Winnipeg. Two unneeded players and a late first doesn't get Chevy to call the Rangers back.
