What do you think Millers current value is

Description
Fair values? Put 2nds in there since they now know they're not giving up a 1st for next year's draft.

Overall, I'm not a fan of these packages. As much as the trade deadline package for the Rangers was bad, I'd honestly take their previous package in Chityl, Lundqvist and their 2022 1st.

Before Debrincat got traded or when he didnt? That's slightly better if that's the case

None of these are realistic. I don’t see a single first round draft pick coming to Vancouver in any of these. Upgrade those seconds to firsts and they are good

Not too sure if I wanted to put a 1st in these since GMs can be very hesitant to do so, especially next year's draft. But I guess that doesn't really reflect Miller's value

Cat just got traded for a bag of pucks. U aren’t getting a 1st for Miller at this point. Have fun w second tier assets and 2nd round picks

I think he could still get a solid prospect or young player. But he is a rental and could have a big contract coming, but will limit his value. So I think he gets less than Fiala or DeBrincat, who both went close to expectations.

Lapierre and 2nd, Lundkvist and 2nd, Smith and 2nd…all seem about right. Depending on team (and cap situation) you may get back another roster player, or an extra asset if salary is retained.

Might be best to hold him through deadline and sell him then.

That was not from a reliable source at all. Don't believe everything you hear online -- Hawks also "reportedly turned down" a package for DeBrincat centered on 2oa

Considering the insidurz are reporting VAN is stubbornly holding out for their exorbitant asking price, perhaps their fans and their front office need a reality check. It’s likely they’ve already overplayed their hand and will have to accept lower than sticker price if they want to actually consummate a trade.

Rumors are rumors regardless of the source to me. Take the Buffalo and Ottawa deal that Dreger mentioned, seemed to lack some pieces. The value of those trade packages don't seem realistic but both teams could potentially sign Miller so who knows. We will probably see him get traded today, but yeah I wouldn't be surprised if those offers weren't real, that's why I said "apparently" perhaps a better word would have been supposedly but I use them interchangeable.

man if I'm the Canucks I am so, so mega pissed at Chicago today because they just tanked JTM's trade value.

every team can say "well this 40 goal scorer just traded for a 1st/2nd/3rd package so why should i pay that much for your older 30 goal scorer?"

I think Vancouver can either get a 1st and B-tier prospect or take a 2nd and maybe a better prospect but I can't really see them getting much more than that at this point. like that Islanders deal you proposed - I wouldn't be thrilled about paying that price (2 roster players and a pick?) after seeing what it cost to get Cat. I think the Canucks gotta hold him through TDL now when the demand will be stronger.

I dont think so. Hes still the best player on the trade block. Younger than Kadri who is asking for alot and much better than Copp who are the two best C on the market. Nucks FO has been pretty open about valuing younger players and didnt love this draft(especially late 1st round pics). Thats why there was no rush to get it done yesterday. Hawks got fleeced because they were desperate to get into this draft I dont think that changes his value.
