I thought they wouldn't even qualify him so I'm surprised they got that much. I don't like the idea of a Francouz-Georgiev tandem either.

As an Avs guy and a Goalie Guy, I love this pick up! yes it may mean Kuemps isn't coming back, but Sakic traded a 1st for a cup, I am ok with that.

NYR fans should be happy, saw quite a few posts from them only having a single 3rd round pick come back for Georgiev.

Honestly as a Rangers fan I’m quite glad about this trade

Georgiev has in the past been a very solid 'tandem' goalie, he just really struggles in the traditional 'plays 1 in every 5 games' type of backup role which is what he had this past couple seasons (and would have going forward if he'd stayed in NY). If the Avs are planning to put him in that kind of spot he could be great for them and well worth the picks paid. (I still voted NYR win because he hasn't been able to show his potential for a while now so they're taking the chance that he can pick it back up)

Uhhhh, theres not a lot to make you feel better about, This is a questionable move.

Not a fan of the trade value but im ok with the idea of spending less in net. COL just won a cup with their goalies putting up .906 and .902 SV%'s, they are a good enough team to win without being carried by a goalie. I think Georgiev's QO is pretty high given how he's played the last 2 years but if he can play like he was 2+ seasons ago them im fine with it. Avs just need average goaltending to win and a Francouz/Georgiev tandem could provide that while giving them more money to spend on their skaters

Not liking this much for Avs, but Avs 3rd round picks may as well be called 4th round picks, at least for this draft. Much diff than Habs 3rd round picks which are 32 picks higher...

Never bet against Sakic. Colorado doesn’t need draft picks they want to win, NYR will flip those picks to get a players to help them win and moves out a player who doesn’t want to be there. Leans more of a win-win to me, but we’ll see how Gorgie plays next season.
