The 2023 draft is considerably deeper. That 2nd-round pick in '23 is the equivalent of a late 1st in trade value right now, about as much value as the 25th.

If it was the 25th for the 35th and 67th this year, absolutely Seattle does that trade.

It was meant to be for this year's draft.

I feel like not qualifying Engvall is a mistake. Good identification of talent/trade targets. Details don't matter too much imo.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've seen on the internet tonight. Even scouts aren't sure how deep it will be and you're putting some odd values in.

Leafs decline whether is 22 or 23. The cost
of the 25 pick would be 35 and 58.

Look at how hesitant all teams are to trade picks in 2023. By this point in time last year, tomorrow's draft had 25 picks from the first 3 rounds traded, only 16 have been dealt in 2023.

Why do people want Strome so bad? He has ZERO physical play and is the exact opposite what the leafs need in the top 6. He had 11 hits last season, why the @#$$%%%%^$^##$ do the leafs the team with the softest role players in the league want a guy like that.

That Seattle trade is exactly what trading down looks like at the draft, it's ridiculously common and probably the most likely trade Dubas could or would make with the Leafs 1st rnd pick

He can play in the top six or center his own line, he produces points, he can be signed for relatively cheap, he's a local guy, he still has upside considering he was a top 3 pick.

I get that he's more of the same, but look around free agency, other than Marchment, and maybe a couple of others, who is a guy that plays with an edge and can put up points? Those guys are rare, and if teams acquire them they lock them up like Tampa did with Nick Paul.

Yeah, the issue was OP had selected the 2023 picks and not the 2022.

The 25th for the 35th and 67th is a steal for Seattle, of course they take that.
