Description
Trade with the Flyers to unload some cap with serviceable players to acquire the #5 draft pick. Philly does this to be competitive and provide some insurance in case Ellis is injured long term.

Montreal then uses the #5 and a late second along with Armia to move up 3 spots and reunite Tatar and Gallagher on Wright's wings

Can be good if NJ trade after the 5th to Arizona for Keller.

And for the Philly one, I will add the Calgary 1st round pick & a 2nd or a 3rd round.

Too much iffy to long term bad cap going to Flyers for them to consider. Same with Armia.

That's Awful for Philly When you actually consider Petry contact sucks for a 34 Year old. Josh Andersons Contract currently sucks for an injury Prone Underperforming 28-Year-Old, and the drop-off of talent From #5 to #26 is Drastic. Not to Mention JVRS's contract only sucks for one More year and we could probably get something for him retained.

Well the Flyers have a bad GM and bad coach, so maybe that's the only team that think Anderson is worth 5.5m X 5 contract. Of course Habs fans don't think he's worth it either, hence all the trades.

The problem is Philly will want to win now, not going to a rebuild. About Petry, all the 31 others GM know that he haved a bad season and want to get out of MTL, so said that's a bad contract, that's 100% false.

I believe for this to work with New Jersey, Montreal needs to draft Slafkovský first, then make the trade on the draft floor. I don't think NJ wants to draft a center. It's Slafkovský and then the defensemen on their draft board.

If Philly won't move pick 5 for Alex Debrincat, why would they do it for Anderson and Petry?

I see the idea but, a 34 Year old who regressed last year making 6+ until he's 37 has to be retained to have value to a tighter cap team. I actually do like Petry but It's most certainly a not-great Contract. Petry would make more sense to a team like Dallas if you take back a worse Contract with term like Faksa then I could see you getting something like their 1st round pick #17 depending on what else is added.

Because Chicago will ask more than the 5th overall.

Because Tortorella will likely have more succes with some players like Anderson & Petry. And the Flyers love to make some decisions that will likely been a L.

Not true... Fletcher already said their only moving their 5OA for a young impact player that will be good long term, Anderson is none of those things

Tortorella has no input on the draft and trades lmao, and even if he did every coach values players who are tough and play well but no coach values bad contracts including tortorella

Maybe, a year ago when Keller was overrated no but given how he bounced back this year it could be in play. Doubt Az trades him though
