the problem with MTL trading dvorak is there's no one to fill in at 2C. evans cant do it, wright shouldnt do it just yet, drouin isnt a C, poehling cant do it, suzuki's the 1C, byron can't do it

Ottawa does not need to add nothing if anything mtl adds... but regardless there is no room for dvorak in the sens line up

They technically can add, they just need to add Murray or Zaitsev

Many things:

1) Ottawa isn’t taking on 10 mill in cap
2) Ottawa isn’t using the 7th to dump a contract (not like they can sign a top free agent anyways)
3) I can’t see Ottawa thinking Anderson is the missing piece in the top 6 when they want an upgrade on Brown and Brown has had better stats

What needs to be added is a winger who can score to play beside Stu or a Top 4 RHD. Neither of those players are of any interest to ottawa

1. We have a reported offer of Anderson for 13th OVA
2. Dvorak is worth a 1st + prospect

I can see a deal being worked on for one of the two of these players for 7th where Montreal adds but for both players to be included I think Ottawa has to add and after going through this explanation I expect it would have to actually be something significant. The trade value of both Anderson and Dvorak combined would be like that of Lehkonen and Chiarot or Lehkonen and Toffoli combined. These are players who are young enough that they can be part of a rebuild and we have no reason to move either of. So unless we are getting great value for them I don't think they will be moved.

Yes, look at the returns for Lehkonen and Toffoli. We got basically 2 1sts + 2 2nds + a 5th, I don't think we could ask for that much back since we are getting 7th OVA (even though it is in a weak draft) but adding a 2nd or a top 15 protected 1st is not unreasonable to get two good roster players each worth a 1st min on their own.
