It's definitely an interesting take..
First of all, Martin Jones is not good, there are much better options available for similar money, and I'd honestly rather have Kinkaid as our backup. Curtis Lazar is alright, but there are better options. Even resigning Rooney would be preferable, despite being a bit more expensive. Hunt will hopefully not be in the lineup next year, at most he'll be a 13th or 14th forward. I'd much rather see Othmann get a shot on the 3rd line, with Blais on the 4th, and if Othmann doesn't work, we have the depth to replace him until 2023-24. Finally, while we need to sign a 7th/8th LD, I'd much rather see Zac Jones in the lineup full-time, it's about time he gets a shot.
Now, onto the more important aspects. Vatrano won't come back for that deal, he'll get a lot more in free agency. Mikheyev is rumored to be valued at around 5 mil, and Vatrano will probably get around that, or a bit more. Plus, the Rangers can't afford to give him that term, with Miller, Laffy, and Chytil extensions on the near horizon. Also, if Vatrano comes back, it'll be in a middle 6 role, probably 3rd line, since Laffy is pretty much confirmed to move to the 1st line.
Next, Copp gets more than that, he's looking for a deal around 6.5-7 mil with term, and that's not something the Rangers can afford, unless we trade him next year, and in that case, it'll be better to trade for cheap rentals, or pick some cheap 2nd/3rd line center up in free agency. If Chytil can be our 2C, I could see Drury trading/signing a cheap 3rd line center. If we were to resign Copp, we wouldn't also trade for Miller, he'd be our 2/3C, depending on how Chytil develops.
Goodrow is not getting traded, Drury signed him long-term as a crucial playoff contributor, and getting rid of him for nothing is dumb. I know his contract is big, but he's worth it for what he brings in the playoffs. Also, Detroit wouldn't trade a pick to get a playoff player when they're nowhere near the playoffs. Especially since he takes up cap space, they'd be better off spending on signing their young stars to long-term deals. He's not the guy they're looking for, unless he comes with a sweetener.
That J.T. Miller trade is not happening. I'm sorry. I love J.T., but Drury knows better than to throw away futures for a guy we can only afford for one year. Kakko wants to stick around, and the Rangers want to keep him, he'll get a cheap bridge deal and a big extension when the cap goes up.
