The Jets aren't moving Dubois for a late first and nothing else of any real value They'd get actual useful, far better, assets at the TDL in 2 years.

Oh really. You think they'll have better control in a trade when teams know for a fact that he won't be resigning in Winnipeg?! That's hilarious. He has most value RIGHT NOW. Every day the Jets wait they lose more and more value in him contract wise.

It sounds like you don't understand how the RFA system works in the NHL. Winnipeg owns his rights for the next 2 seasons.

At the TDL in two years, Dubois would get the standard TDL rental price of a 1st and a good prospect minimum. Which is far, far better than this offer.

The next 2 years of Dubois is worth more than the entire careers of Mysak and Dvorak put together. So, if the Jets easily get more next summer or at the TDL in 2 years, what is the incentive for Winnipeg trade him for garbage now?

13 OA isnt a late pick... Dvorak was traded for a late 1st and a 2nd, he still has value

Considering Fiala was traded for the 19 oa, it pretty much is Dubois value atm

Dvorak has minimal value, maybe a 3rd or a 2nd tops from a desperate team. Montreal drastically overpaying for him doesn't make him more valuable.

No one is giving up a 1st for Anderson, never mind 13OA.

Fiala isn't a good comparable at all. Fiala is a less valuable winger while Dubois is a more valuable center. Plus the main difference, Minnesota was forced into trading Fiala due to cap mismanagement, while the Jets have no pressure or need at all to trade Dubois for another 2 years.

Their situations aren't even slightly comparable.

explain to me why the Isles would give up 13OA for Josh Anderson and his 5x$5.5M when he doesn't fit any of their immediate offseason needs (left handed D, scoring winger)

Yes. He has 2 years of RFA left. So after 2 years he's UFA. He stated he won't be signing with Winnipeg for his UFA years and will be leaving after Winnipeg loses contract control.

Therefore, Winnipeg has 2 RFA years of value to manage. The longer they wait as he approaches UFA, the more value the Jets lose. He's a depreciating asset. They are set to lose his services for nothing. Teams know this.

Thanks for your strong effort though. Appreciated.

Ah, I see, you don't understand the situation and have taken you own assumptions as fact.

Dubois had not ever said he won't sign in Winnipeg for his UFA years, he's only said he wants to test UFA.

There is almost no chance the Jets lose Dubois for nothing, as it is unlikely Winnipeg uses him as an own rental in two years. They can easily move him next summer or the TDL after that and easily get far more than this offer.

His bare minimum price is a 1st and a good prospec. at the TDL in two seasons. So, if teams want the additional 2 years of control before that they will need to ante up and meet Chevy's price. GM's know this and understand Winnipeg has all the control on if, where and when Winnipeg trades Dubois.

Lowball offers don't stand a chance of being considered.

Lol You fail to comprehend my point, in trying to justify your supurb knowledge.

Im not defending this trade.

Im simply stating that the longer the Jets wait, the less value they retain in a trade.

PDL will not be in Winnipeg long term, because it's Winnipeg. Period.

Enjoy your ego bathe.
