I like the idea of Konecny on the Canes but Necas is worth way more than a 1 for 1.

The definite and direct nature of this comment is exactly why this site bothers me sometimes. Konecny is simply not better than Necas, and if he were he wouldn’t be on the trade block going back to this past TDL.

The reality is these are two players we simply don’t have a full picture on. Both down years last year, both have had great moments.

Necas at his best is better than TK at his best. The issue here is that neither team seems to get the best version of these two guys.

Sanhiem is worth about 3 times that value… heck, I’m not even sure I’d say there’s value there lol, just re-work that offer completely

Don't see CHI considering this. That 24' pick is so far in advance and likely to be late. I prefer to keep Jones unless we can trade him for a younger lesser version and a pick/s

Another thing about this site - fans overrate players on their own teams and undervalue players on other teams. Necas has also been rumored to be on the trade block so solid diss there…

Entitled to your own opinion so that is fine. The issue in thinking I’m giving out a ‘solid diss’ is the problem. I don’t think it’s a controversial take to say that Necas has higher upside than TK, nor is it to say that both players have been inconsistent. I don’t see much of a motivation for the Canes to make a trade like this.

I personally would almost prefer CHI cut their losses with Jones and trade him now. Then they can keep Murphy around to help teach young players to play defense during the rebuild. But I highly doubt they move him any time soon, and I completely understand why they won't. They have too much invested him. But if that FLA 1st round pick wasn't so far away in 2024 and most likely late in the round, this wouldn't be a horrible offer. That is, as long as Ellis were to actually play.

Blues accept this...I'm not the biggest fan of Sanheim but for this he would be worth it.
