I wouldn't do anything like that as the Los Angeles GM.

My offer stands: Alex Iafallo, Sean Walker, Helge Grans and our 2023 first.

Of these 3 prospects, how would you rank them? I assume Helge Grans would be a tier under them all?
Björnfot, Tobias
Clarke, Brandt
Turcotte, Alex

Maybe Helge instead of Clarke?

I think Ottawa could beat that offer. 7th overall, Brannstrom , Jarventie/Formenton

Yeah, that was too much for LA to accept, but your offer is also bad but in the other direction. LA's 1st rounder is prob going to be late because they're good, so I think it's more fair to send ARZ a top prospect since LA has so many of them

If seventh overall is included, virtually any intelligent additions make Ottawa's offer better.

Got to find as many bedard lottery tickets as possible, not sure on new Arizona rink timeline, but everything points to a peak in 5 years, so everything about the draftpicks going forward, so an attempt at as many firsts as humanly possible. If Keller was healthy, I would trade him also, along with schmaultz depending on market.

True. I could see ottawa doing this and trading Chabot in 3 years to re-sign Chychrun

Clarke has the highest upside.
Bjornfot is developing into a steady but unspectacular defender.
The jury is out on Turcotte due to his medical problems, as it is with Vilardi.
I'd rather keep Grans than Turcotte, to be honest, if I needed one or the other to close a deal.

Grans IS a top prospect, and the Coyotes need actual NHLers for their 2022 roster.

So replace Clarke with Grans Helge in this trade. Would you do it then?

Well, I think that it's a moot point because I can't imagine Arizona wanting one year of Jonathan Quick, even though he only costs $2.5 million in real money. Replace him with our 2023 first, which I think is a more valuable asset in the long run, and Clarke with Grans and I would certainly make that deal.

I'm convinced that Arizona and their new GM want draft picks over time to build up their team. They already have 7 picks in the first 45 this summer, so I think that they'd like to start stockpiling 2023 and 2024 picks.

Quick is added for straight cap reasons. LA is right up aginst the cap. Having 10.8m in a cap in goalies is a problem. Arizona can flip[ him at the deadline potentially half retained.

If we're getting Chychrun for futures only, we'll find our own way out of our cap situation. It won't be by trading our starting goalie and franchise icon in the last or second-to-last season of his Kings career.

OK, just have seen prospect pool evaluations with not even mentioning him and I meant compared to the other prospects LA has... Helge is good though, much better than I thought. I think ARZ should just watch out to make sure they get quality centerpiece over quantity when trading Chychrun

Well, I would, but my fellow Los Angeles stalwarts disagree. That's why all of my Chychrun offers include Alex Iafallo.

I couldn't agree more.

I'm of the firm belief (and on record) that Arizona shouldn't trade Chychrun at all. I think that he's the prototypical centerpiece of their future rebuild. You can't just start a team from scratch, the Las Vegas anomaly notwithstanding; you need some key players to build around. I just keep throwing Chychrun offers out there because everyone else is.

The only reason why I think Arizona should trade Chychrun is because he is up in 3 years. If it was 5 years I would keep him. Best case scenario if they keep him, they become good on his last season and they can lose him. I would get a bunch of good young assets for him that will have many more years of control.

If I were Arizona management, I would do EVERYTHING I could to put a competitive culture in place, so that they can make a run at Matthews in free agency. I do think there is a strong possibility of this happening. The assets they could get from a Chychrun should be ready by then and hopefully 1 or 2 of them pan out well.
