Détails additionnels:
Canes don’t have a first, nucks want bear. Nucks have a very weak prospect pool so canes give them two of their prospects which are part of a deep pool and a deep team as part of the compensation in addition to a third. Gunler and pononarev are both former seconds and damn good prospects in their own regard. Both have North American experience as well being European prospects and were a part of a Calder cup winning team. Yes it’s not drury who is the canes top prospect but I believe they both have the potential to be on par/ better than drury if developed correctly. Nucks top prospect right now is rathbone, both of these players have higher upside than him and have a better chance of being better NHLers

May be asking for a little much by trying to reacquire the canes first but I think trading down 12 spots may be a move. Always possible to have it be a later pick like early to mid second but giving up a tandem goalie for the yotes to use with kerell will help him develop a lot more. Suzuki can be any prospect they want tbh(excluding drury, kochetkov, and maybe seeley). Necas is the main piece coming off of a down year but he still has tremendous upside and I believe he would be a very good piece for the yotes and a future high end 2nd line center for them to play with guenther or Keller assuming they draft Cooley this year at 3 but who knows.

Détails additionnels:
After the year tony had I think this is a fair return for him. Imagine him with mcdavid and drai. Barrie fell off after the shortened season playing against exclusively Canadian teams. Tony played with worse players and put up more points. One thing that may jam this up is what the oilers will have to do with Barrie after acquiring tony. If they do get him barrie is as good as gone. The other thing that will jam it up is how much he demands. He will obviously be underpaid based on his skill for his antics. A solid 2-3 million under what he should be getting paid. Comparing him to dougie he had 9 more points in 9 more games played based on their last season with the canes. If tony d wasn’t a cancer he could be making north of 8 but I see him practically getting 4.5-6 for short term because there is always the risk of him being a jackass. Tbh I think this is very fair return for tony because he is high risk high reward and with mcdavid and drai that reward is amplified greatly.

Not enough for the Arizona. Take out Raanta and add a prospect, someone like Rees. Maybe another piece as well. Drop the second from dumping Gards. At most it takes a 3rd. Nichushkin definitely gets more after his playoff performance this year. More than likely closer to 7mil if I had to guess. The goaltending for next year will be Freddie and Raanta, with Koochie having a full year in the AHL (barring extenuating circumstances) and then coming up full time for the 2024 season.

Outside of this, it’s pretty good.

Yea I didn’t know how to gauge the nich deal but I left about 1.5m in cap space if he was more. Assuming it doesn’t take a second and third to dump gards(which I based on the ghost deal), the second could def go to AZ as a part of the chychrun deal and including a prospect like Rees is always possible too. Tbh I get running Freddie and Raanta this year but both r ufas at the end of 2023 so I think kochetkov getting a year as backup is better for him to be NHL ready. Keeping Raanta is also viable because the odds him or Freddie gets injured and koochie has to come up is relatively high. A revised AZ trade could look like the package offered, minus Raanta, plus a second and rees.

I don't think Bear's value is that high and I don't think the Canucks would be that open to moving their pick. Necas would be a nice add but there doesn't seem to be a fit there. I think the Hurricanes would be pretty good trade partners for Miller though.

The difference between Gards and Ghost is Ghost had more term and money, but Gards is coming off a big injury. It’s a decent comparable, but the second is unnecessary.

I completely agree on your take at G. My counter argument, they won the Jennings, and while both are injury prone, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and that tandem isn’t broken. As much as I think Koochie would benefit from being the backup to Freddie, he needs that full year down with the Wolves, and the odds are definitely in his favor of being called up to play a few games with the Canes.

The only reason I see this as a possibility is because the canes are offering up something that they would heavily consider despite the fact that they aren’t shopping the pick. They are getting two players who would be top 4 prospects in the organization after the draft and in addition they get a high third and bear who they want. The value isn’t coming from bear nearly as much as it’s coming from the two former second round picks who have higher upside than some firsts in their respective drafts. It’s more of a trade the canes make out of wanting a higher end prospect and a move the Canucks make to have a better chance at having good NHL players. Neither player imo has 15th overall potential yet they both will likely be contributers in the NHL which could be something the nucks need. I think it fits both teams because the canes lack high end prospects like A grade prospects but they have a plethora of B+/B prospects which the nucks lack. It is a trade made to strengthen both teams weaknesses

Tbh the only Canadian team I see taking a chance on him is the oilers. No matter what happens I do not see him being welcome in any market at the start but if a team takes a chance on him, they may be pleased like the canes were this season. As a hockey fan it’s tough knowing he is most likely gone but as a decent human being I’m glad he is leaving but I also acknowledge how he was scandal free this season

Kinda hits weaknesses for both teams by bolstering the nucks pool with prospects and the canes get a chip they can use or draft a player with higher potential than both of those prospects

I understand your reasoning but I think CAR and VAN are actually looking for the same thing here. VAN doesn't need more prospects with the potential to be NHLers, they need a couple of holes filled long term (top-4 RHD and 3C). Keeping 15th OA would is more likely to address one of those issues than making this trade in my eyes.

The Canucks looked at Bear up close during the bubble year and he was unimpressive. Glad he did well in CAR but I attribute that to him joining an efficient, well-coached and disciplined team more so than him becoming a top-4 caliber player. The only defenseman that VAN would want from you would be Pesce, which doesn't work.
