He requested a trade and the rangers have no room for him in their bottom six, plus the fact that the rangers do not rate him very highly given the fact he was behind reaves, rooney and hunt in the depth chart in the playoffs

Can only see a Blackwood trade to the Leafs involving Sandin going back the other way.
Not many other pieces in the Leafs organization that'd be of interest to the Devils.
A 3rd and SDA, a B/C level prospect the Devils have a too many to know what to do with as is, is certainly not that the Devils would be looking for when trading Blackwood.

He can request anything he wants, but the Rangers control him since he is under contract and they are not just going to give him away to make him happy. Also, Rooney is a UFA and Reaves could also be on the trading block due to cap issues. Bottom line is the Rangers need cheap bottom 6 forwards now more than ever.
