Hi Super Randy. Dinner was delicious. Hope your was too. Now down to business. Drury has stated that the #2 C position is his #1 priority. It's obvious to anyone why The Rangers are is a serious CAP crunch. I've been working this problem a lot. If I were the Drury, here is what I am looking for. A center or a wing who can play center that has an offensive production of 50 pts. or better a faceoff percencentage of 50% or better (or as close to 50% as possible), and who costs no more the $5.5M. There are a number of candidates getting attention (not necessarily by me in all cases) including WPG C Mark Scheifele. The Rangers have a lot of players with NMCs and NTCs. Both Dubois and Scheifele would not be viable in the out years, even if WPG offered to retain some of their salaries. Believe me, I've been working night and day to come up with candidates. If money were no object both WPG players would be on the radars screen. All other criteria become moot if you can't afford the player. The best I have come up with is a trade for SEAs Yanni Gourde in exchange for Filip Chytil and Kappo Kakko. Yanni's production stats lasts year were 21-27-48 and his career average 22-28-50. Faceoff % last year 49.5% and his career average is 48.3%. He is under contract for the next three years at $5.16M. He has been putting up good numbers for the last 5 years. Hope this response helps. Feel free to get back to me if I failed to address anything. Best Regards
