CBJ pass. I’d take the ceiling of whoever may be at 6, particularly since it is looking more likely to be one of Jiricek or Nemec.

Romanov is a very good player, and that trade including him is a more than fair one. But he's also a LD and that's a very significant trade down, and so the Jackets almost certainly give this a "thanks but no thanks". We just wouldn't get enough out of him to justify the trade down, what with already having Werenski and Gavrikov.

Romanov is not even close to value for trading down the 6OA to 21OA. He was a .23 WAR player last year and he'd be well behind Werenksi and Gavrikov on the left side.

We don't particularly have a need for LD either with Bean as a project who could become a top 4 defenseman and can switch to the right side. Carlsson and Christiansen capable 3rd pairing players and Knazko and Svozil in the system.

Value might be there for the 12OA trade down but I still personally would not do the deal.

And Holm, Berni, Richard, Makarov and Hreschuk. LD is so redundant for the Blue Jackets to acquire right now it's ridiculous.
