I'm not sold on Girard being the answer. He's very talented, don't get me wrong... and in a vacuum, he would be a perfect fit for what the Islanders need to add to their top 4. My concern is if he can stay healthy playing in a playoff environment against the heavy teams in the East. Remember what happened to Visnovsky against Washington? The game plan would be to dump the puck into his corner and take him to pound town. Because the Islanders lack depth at left defense, they need someone to count on who can stay on the ice.
