Boeser is significantly better than Olofsson, a very late 1st and a 2nd is 100% fair difference in value between the two (and I'm saying this as a neutral fan)
Quoting: Juiceman
Boeser is much better than Olofsson. In his career he has scored 30 goals per every 82 games played. This past year he fell off a bit because he had personal issues that were distracting him (his father battling dimentia and Parkinson’s and ultimately losing the battle and pasting away). Boeser has also very good defensive awareness. Olofsson is a third liner will not be able to replace Boeser
I rarely agree with "Love" but it is not only talent but more important LW v RW.
Once Olofsson is traded the Sabres only have Skinner to provide LW goals.
While Boeser is a known asset, Quinn has all the tools to provide similar or better production.
I pass primarily that Victor is needed more in the Buffalo line up than Brock.
Let me add Olofsson is avg 24goals/82 games over his career.
His out put was seriously impacted last year with Krueger as his HC and this year by a wrist injury.
Looking at his performance, his first season he had 22 goals in 54 games or 33 goals over an 82 game season.
Last year after Olofsson's wrist healed, over his final 34 games he had 15 goals, or 36 goals over an 82 game season plus, 13 assists, 28 pts or 68 pts over 82 games and was
+1 which considering he was thought to be a defensive liability if very impressive.
Let me add Olofsson played with Cozens (38), Asplund (27), Krebs (20), Okposo (43), Mittelstadt (19), Jankowski (5), Eakin (12), Ruotsalainen (4), Murray (6) and Quinn (2) (total pts 170) about 50% of the time and managed 20 goals and 49 pts in 72 games, not bad.
Boeser on the other hand played over 65% of the time with wither Miller or Pettersson 99 pts and 68 pts respectively.
With those high octane line mates Boeser was able to get 23 goals and 46 pts in 71 games, not much different than Olofsson playing with much less talented team mates 20 goals and 49 pts.
Bottom line, Boeser
IS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than Olofsson and Buffalo needs a scoring LW more than another scoring RW.
Easy pass by Buffalo.
