Quoting: Aussie_Blackhawk
Mrazek is probably a 2nd + Abruzz... Just using Topi for aruements reference. CHI will want something in return with a high ceiling. I doubt they find that value in any of the 1sts and you may disagree but I don't see Topi with anywhere near the ceiling as DeBrincat. CHI will want to be risk analysing every move before pulling the trigger.
I'm not sure what execs have Niemela, my issue with the trade though isn't just what's going for directly DeBrincat (if someone gets him it will be for an overpay) and the fact that he's probably paying for retention. It's the overall changes that are happening to trade for Debrincat.
Out: Nylander, Niemela, 25th overall (TOR) + 2023 1st (TOR), Mrazek, Holl
In: Debrincat, Wiesblatt, 2023 2nd (SJ), 2024 3rd (SJ), Bonino, Reimer
Reimer is probably just going to be just as bad as Mrazek, he didn't do well in TOR the first time. Holl and Bonino basically cancel out.
Let's just say 2023 1st gets cancelled by 2023 2nd and 2024 3rd
You are left with Nylander, Niemela, 25th OV for DeBrincat+Wiesblatt
Debrincat has a 0.83 PPG rate to Nylander's 0.8 PPG rate since DeBrincat joined the league (Nylander's career is 0.78PPG). So I would put their trade value similar, except that DeBrincat has 8th most goals, so that puts him ahead not by a 1st round pick though.
That leaves Wiesblatt for Niemela and 25th OV, idk who wiesblatt is but I'm confident that is a massive overpay. If I'm wrong let me know.
