Devils will not be moving the 2nd overall pick for someone who doesn't fit the core age. Tom has been clear about that. If they have interest in Miller, it won't include the 2nd overall pick, Holtz, or Mercer.

Miller would need a decent long term extension for Columbus to consider this, that being said there is also no reason to think Miller would want to be in Columbus long term.

Philly isn't trading that much for Miller and 5th OA is only available for a player in his early 20s that can help the team for a long time

Not downplaying how good Miller is but most of these trades are all way too high of a return. Look at Jack Eichel, with cost certainty didn't get near the return that some of these trades are. Nobody is going to give up the second overall pick for Miller

I have them trading a 2023 1st round pick not their 5th OA. I do not think Philly should do this but I think their management wants to go all out and this is how they can do that.

Vancouver fans gonna be real disappointed with the return for miller

I believe that some of these trades are an overpay but if Fiala go an A level prospect and a 1st round pick Miller should be receiving at least that in return plus another asset

I think the trade with Washington makes the most sense.

Fiala is a 25 year old with a pre-negotiated deal pending the trade call, not to mentionh he was always the primary driver on his line. Miller is 29 and a pending free agent and he's coming off a season it would take a miracle to repeat and he relied strongly on his linemates to drive play.
                  They arnt compatable at all

Is Faber really an A level prospect? From what I've read he's a great defender, but the offensive production doesn't seem to be there at all.

I have them trading a 2023 1st round pick not their 5th OA. I do not think Philly should do this but I think their management wants to go all out and this is how they can do that.

Here is the comprehensive, all-inclusive list of all RHDs that Columbus is going to be willing to trade to Vancouver (or anywhere else, for that matter) without getting an equivalent or better RHD in return:
                  Stucker, Robbie
                  MAYBE Hjorth, Eric

That's it. There are no others. In particular, if you ask for Ceulemans or Peeke and aren't getting us a replacement RHD (or the chance to draft one this year by way of a top-5-or-better draft pick this year), your trade is going to be auto-rejected because we are already critically short on RHD talent and can't afford to lose those guys.

Literally no one in the NHL gets more than a 1st round pick and an A prospect. It should make sense that a better player would get a return, but NHL GMs are so risk averse that as long as you are a second line player, you will return exactly that and nothing more. It is also not at all clear that Miller is more valuable than Fiala given their age and deployment. All of these packages are around a first round pick too high.

Jack Eichel got more than a 1st and an A prospect... It'll be similar for JT Miller.

Eichel got a 1st and an A prospect, and were lucky to get Tuch in order to balance salary. It will not be similar for Miller.
