I mean, yeah-- but that was at the deadline and able to add a 20+ goal-scorer on a $1.5m multi-year deal. A cap strapped team like TBL will overpay for that. Not saying it's a great deal, but there was some reasoning to it. I just don't think McDonagh has a lot of value because of his age and contract. We'll see, but I think something around Bailey in NYI and McDonagh could make some sense. Maybe TBL keeps him and then buys him out the following season or immediately flips him with like $1m retained to a team like ANA or DAL or something, but I could see a deal between those two clubs.

Hagel got 2 first specifically because cap space is at a huge premium right now and he's on a super cheap deal. The same force that drove Hagel's value up is gonna drive McDonagh's value down.
