Guess it depends on how much you value Cooley versus the guys @8. I personally want to extend Bert and just select at 8. I’m thinking adding a guy like Kasper is an underrated move.

The cost to move from 8 to 2 is roughly the number 13 pick and Bertuzzi with an extension is worth way more than the 13. In 2017 Derek Stepan got the 7th pick in a very similar draft. So take out everything else; Bertuzzi for the 2nd overall. You guys get a heart and soul power forward and we get a potential second line center.

And Slavkovsky may be a bust like Patrick or Kakko. You're not taking that into account. NHL GMs are extremely risk averse.
