Masters talked about it back in 2017 but an article came out in 2021 by CJ discussing how Lou and Dubas were ready to draft Aho but Hunter was like lets go get the OHL dman of the year.

Now if Dermott kept that kind of game going I would have been fine but nope went to just being a depth 3rd pair guy

Still though at least Hunter wasnt as braindead as Burke. As to think Toronto could have had the 2nd OA pick in 2009 for LUKE SCHENN which would have meant on top of Kadri we would have had Hedman

Either of you guys got a link to the supposed CJ article? Can't find it anywhere. I knew about the Masters tweet, but there are no specifics about Dubas and Lou wanting Aho and Hunter pushing for Dermott (who I don't recall winning OHL Dman of the year, but could be wrong), just that they considered it.

It came out during the TDL in 2021 I cant find it as CJ old articles have either disappeared or are locked will try a google backlog but it could be lost to time. I do think though he mentioned it on his little podcast one time so that might help

And yeah I mixed up ohl dman of the year with a team record lul. As I believe before Drysdale Dermott was the Otters best Dman or something like that.

This draft is shaping up to be scary good. I pity teams who traded all their early picks.

Bedard is a generational talent.

Michkov, Fantilli, Carlsson, and Sale are very good top 3 picks.

Benson, Brindley, Wood, Yager, Gauthier, Dvorsky, Halttunen, Allen, Lindstein, Leonard, Smith, Ziemmer, Ritchie, Musty, Jarventie, Cristall (and some more) are all top ten material

It's actually pretty crazy. I'm super pumped the Habs have a bunch of picks in this draft

There is one player who kind of has been forgotten and I hate to bring him up but I think that Eichel is probably 3rd in this race, his shot was ridiculous and I remember comparing him and Matthews 2/3 years ago. Matthews has gotten a lot better even recently and Eichel hasn't player really in 2 years so we will see what his wrister looks like during this season.

Ty Voit is a fun guy to watch and while I dont know if hes gonna keep up this level of production 5 goals and assists in 4 games aint a bad start

Also is a 5th round pick

That’s a crowed crease.

When healthy:
Marlies: Kallgren, Woll, Ferguson
Growlers: Petruzelli, McKay, Cavallin

It's surprising but I actually really like it. Tourigny is too good for the QMJHL, but Laval is too crowded to give him proper ice time.

Arber Xhekaj is my personal favorite success story this season.

Undrafted in the OHL
Undrafted in the NHL
Loses his job at Costco because of the pandemic
Recycled himself to make clay tennis courts at 20$/h during the cancelled CHL season
Wins the OHL championship
Finishes second place in 21-22 Memorial Cup
Makes the opening night roster and plays his first NHL game

I feel Nikita Grebyonkin is gonna be one of those prospects that's gonna fly under the rug and surprise people in a year or two

As man if he can put all the tools he has together at a higher level he could be a solid 3rd liner

From Cam Robinson - The AHL U22 Talent is insane..
• David Jiříček
• Lukas Reichel
• Filip Mesar
• Jonatan Berggren
• Ridly Grieg
• Pyotr Kochetkov
• Xavier Bourgault
• Fabian Lysell
• Daniil Gushchin
• Aatu Raty
• William Dufour
• Lukas Dostal
• Chaz Lucius
• Kirill Marchenko
• Dustin Wolf
• Kent Johnson
• Simon Nemec
• William Eklund
• Nick Robertson
• Philip Broberg
• Jakob Pelletier
• Simon Edvinsson
• Helge Grans
• Mavrik Bourque
• Thomas Bordeleau
to name a few

The AHL/ NHL should really be advertising and pushing their content more/ streaming avenues. There’s going to be some crazy games that’ll definitely be better than watching the Hawks, Philly, Yotes, Sharks, Habs. Obviously all these talents will probably see a game or a call up eventually but it’s more than likely mostly all of them play atleast a dozen games or more. I’d say near majority play nearly full AHL years.

No Comrie was added to be the starter and they like Anderson because of the veteran leadership he brings to this group. Where on pace for 102 points end of last season when he was playing although he only put up like a .898 sv%.

Albeit small sample size he did very well last year...2.5 GAA and .92 sv% will have to see how this year goes.

Its just a matter of time until they call up UPL for the full time job, he did well last year 9 GP 2.74 0.917

Good for him, hoping he has a big year

If he can become a Laughton/Bennett 3c type I would be happy

Surprised though he got the full ELC package as I was suspecting a robertson like deal

As thats kind of what we need rn. If we need a 2c go trade or sign someone via FA. There are some nice fill in names

But hey maybe Minten takes a huge step and becomes a nice 2c candidate lets see

More like tandem guy

As I think he can be a good tandem goalie but starter is 50/50

Cause while we have seen late bloomers I havent seen enough from him to say yeah your a starter
