This is super left field to the WTFth degree, but I have this creeping feeling that the Blues take Rykov with one of their 3rds. Like somehow I just know it's coming. Like a shadow monster from the last Thor. They LOVE sneaky, feisty buggers who come out of that region of Russia a whole lot and he's so young they don't need to fret over "will he or won't he and when can he?" - they can just sit back and let him develop. There's every chance he gets snapped up by Avtomobilist or even SKA within two years, and his training staff/practice level improve massively.

This isn't Junior. Literal best numbers we've seen in a very long time. Raise your expectations. Anything worse than a top pairing defender, he's a bust.

College is basically juniors. Be happy with a top 4 defender. Most 2nd round picks never make the NHL

With the stats he's putting up, I won't be happy with a top 4 defender. When we made the pick, that's what I was hoping for. Now I'm hoping for another PK Subban

You're asking too much from him. Plenty of players put up insane junior numbers but don't turn into that kind of player. A top 4 defenseman is a very good player to get from the 2nd round

he's going back for another year. I think he could play next season but I don't mind him going back another year. let him play on a Stacked BC team next year and develop all parts of his game and most importantly as a center.

It's a lot better of a place to let him develop as a center, Mistakes are much more forgiving.

He had 22 points as a 19 YO? They aren't even comparable.
