Nope These drafts are fun it's just not the early to mid 2010s with the Matthews, McDavid, Nathan Mak, Ekblad, and co. It's been a new style since 2017 with never a clear generation at the front, doesn't mean the drafts aren't fun or good but they have some of the best pick 3 to mid 1st rounds IMO than before. 4 and 5 in 2017 lands Makar and Petey while 1st is an ok 2-way 2nd line elite center Hischier (Shane Wright will be Hischier). 2018 1st lands an elite LD Dahlin but Svechnikov at 2nd has virtually a no distance and can easily be 1st overall. D men Dobson, Hughes and Bouch, Boq show the phenomenal depth of elite defenceman in the 1st half of the 1st round. now 2019 lands a Gem in Hughes who is elite but slow development shows his stats getting better now in 21-22. 1st mid half of the first round lands Zegras at 9, Boldy at 12, Calder winner Seider at 6, Caufield at 15 lol, and Byram at 4---> a deep 1st mid half Again!. 2021 is easily a prize for 3rd and 4th overall with Stutzle and Raymond being better than Laffy. Hey Lundell was a top 3 in my mocks and has 44 points in 65 games as a 12th overall, oh the diamonds Mercer at 18 and Jarvis at 13 were, wanted the Leafs or Oilers to snag him all my mocks!!! Perfetti will be a highly skilled top 6 as well soon. 2021 is Power's draft, who is good but looks like Berniers and Sillinger from the elite USNDTP are elite.

now 2022, with Wright has the same story except he's now no longer even unanimously the number 1 as Slaf has risen, Slaf led his country to the 1st medal and just is a natural leader like Landy when he became captain at a young age of just 19. Nazar will be super elite and better than Keller, Wright=Hischier very reliable pick as well and known ceiling and bottom. Lekky, Jiricek will be phenomenal offensive and Nemec is another Provorov.

Suzuki will be a #1C it's just he can't do that like Matthews, McDavid, Makinnon, and Crosby. Wright is a solid reliable #2 C like Krejci, Hischier, better than Danault, kinda like Byfield. #1 Generation C comes next year with Bedard, and if Montreal gets Bedard they win a cup under the Price regime if he ever comes back. Nazar this year has the tools to be a #1C but it's projecting.
