Good luck with signing laf miller kratsov and a 4th line. Still think Kakko gets offersheeted or traded as well

Sounds like something a Rangers blogger would come up with. Rangers get a great piece that they need and only give up one piece with any real value.

Plus if PLD will sign for that the Jets just keep him.

      Schneider and a late 1st isn't a bad price,

Dubois signing for 7 years sounds like a problem. Either he really wants out of Winnepeg and/or he really wants to go to Montreal. Talking about testing ufa in 2 years.

As a Jets fan, I would take this deal. Maybe take out Nemeth as we dont need another LHD. But Schneider with Heinola in the future has all sorts of promise imo

Schneider and the 1st rounder are the only decent pieces. The rest you can keep.

If I’m the jets I’m accepting that deal. I really like Schneider and think Chytil will be a solid contributor at C, and fills the holes potentially left by stastny and Dubois.

I just want to know what’s going on with the PLD contract situation. Does he really want to test FA in 2 years? Is this a tactic to get more money? Does he just want out of Winnipeg? All of these are questions I wish I had the answer to.

If I was the Rangers or a fan of them I wouldn't touch that deal. They have really good players on cheap deals right now and to give up that many young talented assets for a guy who isn't happy anywhere and seems to have some work ethic issues (what I see from a distance) just isn't smart.

So to elaborate this trade rumor caught me completely off guard because I have no idea what the Rangers plan for PLD would be in the long term. I threw this together in a matter of minutes. This would be a pitiful decision for New York

Uh, first off PLD is a mere 2C with ethic concern. He’s not landing a package any better than this no matter where he’s traded. In addition, you’re the only one in the comments objecting to this trade. Second, who is the “one piece” of value you’re referencing? I can’t even tell who it is…

And as a side question, what did you expect to get from Jacob Trouba? Because I guarantee it was more than a 1st and Pionk. Probably a lot more as a matter of fact.

chytil’s a solid young center as well. nemeth’s a cap dump 100% but schneider + chytil + a 1st is a relatively fair package for both sides IMO, fills the jets’ need for RD and replaces PLD with a center who can play in the lineup rn.

I think it would be a much better idea for the rangers just to resign Copp and not trade for PLD.

I just wanted to make line 2 the kid line. Then if it underachieves you’ll have all the space in the world at the trade deadline. Teams accrue more salary cap space by then.

Not true. There are at lest two others in here that agree, but everyone has different opinions. Some peoples feelings are hurt and will accept anything and of course they are the vocal minority. We had guys thinking that the Jets would be lucky to get a marginal 3rd liner in return for Laine. So, reaching

The Trouba situation is nothing like this. Trouba only had one year of team control left, asked to be traded and would only accept a trade to one team. The PLD situation isn't similar at all. But as you mentioned the Jets easily won the Trouba trade, so maybe Chevy will pull off the same thing here.

Overall, the Jets have 2 years to figure out the PLD situation, so they don't need to junk at the first lowball offer they see.

I just wonder if the breadman rumours are true, possibly a few moving pieces that gets to a rebuilt second line on the rangers, and move the cap around

I just don’t know where panarin would go, that’s a lot of cap to move out and not many teams can fit him in easily.

I believe panarin still wants ny chi la type major city dreams, so ya your right on tough fit. Just think there’s possibly more moving parts than what the rumour mills have picked up or even this site has solved lol
