Brossoit's career as a backup looks like quite the ride. A good year then a bad year and repeat for GAA and SV%, with GSAx/60 alternating between positive and negative.

Deal doesn't make much sense for Boston. Sure Patch's is a better player, but he cost $3 million more against the cap. Then add to it he's been piling up injuries (and missing time each season) with being 33yrs old and it just seems like a bad move for Boston.

He also only has 1 yr left, so not a HUGE risk when Debrusk wants out anyways. Maybe they do it if they want to make a big push next season if Bergeron is coming back for one more and they are worried Pasta wont resign in 23/24

DeBrusk has already said he's fine returning to Boston if not traded this off-season. Not to mention Patche's play LW and Boston already has Marchand & Hall under contract. None of them are going to want to move to RW. The added $3 million also puts Boston in a very tight cap spot.
