You can take Pinto And Formenton out and Billy G would still take that and run, if I was high on Fiala, which I am so not high on him, I'd go JBD and the 2022 1st for Fiala, possibly even just the 2022 1st is good enough too

Which prospect do Sens fans consider to be better, JBD or Thomson?

I would think it's more preference based more than anything. JBD is kind of like a Brodin-lite but plays the right side instead. Thompson plays more like Middleton but doesn't have his size or is as heavy as him.

We could both types on the right side for our prospect pool to be honest. But we are only getting one of them. I also like either Järventie or Sokolov as a potential return too.

depends on who you ask, Thomson is a bit more dynamic and has some better puck-moving, but JBD is the kind of defenceman that you never notice, for all the right reasons. Thomson is definitely a bit more exciting, but for the Sens' needs, personally I prefer JBD. There probably won't be room for both of them long term, and if one of them were to be Chabot's long-term partner, I'd want it to be JBD

Thomson also has one more year on his ELC so that might swing the Wild more in his favor over JBD too...

Middleton in no way sucks offensively.

He was either paired with Burns or Karlsson in San Jose so was forced to strictly stay back as a defensive defenseman but has shown flashes of promise in his offensive game since coming to Minnesota and he's been partnered with Spurgeon. Both Evason and Guerin have mentioned in pressers that they were surprised to find out how good he was offensively and how good of a shot he has since they too thought he was strictly a defensive defenseman when he was acquired. The term pleasantly surprised may have been an understatement for them.

This gives them greater flexibility in how they chose to deploy those two in game situations and it was often Middleton who was the chosen active D-man that pressed into the offensive zone while Spurgeon held back. That wouldn't of been the case if Middleton sucked offensively.

Middleton's offensive game may be unpolished and raw right now, but the Wild brass have basically said it's something they'll look to develop now that they know it's there.

In short, he's absolutely a comparable.
