Bourque probably got a 40% chance to make an impact at the NHL level - Petry had a rough year on a rough team with lots of issue with his family - he's usually a top 4 Dman who scored 40+pts in shorten seasons.

He's worth a good prospect like Bourque, however - I can understand why the Stars don't want to trade him

Johnston and Stankoven are no gos. Bourque and Dell I’d be willing to move for a young top four D. Petry isn’t young. I have nothing against Petry and know how good he is. Giving away young cost controlled talent for old players isn’t a good idea unless we are legit contenders and we aren’t. I’m okay with the fact that Dallas needs playoff revenue to stay in business. I think we’re still a playoff team with some smart free agent signings. That doesn’t require moving prospects. And we finally have some good ones. I think trading for Bear and adding a forward makes this team better than a big Petry trade. Now and in the future. I sincerely appreciate your productive and respectful response
