Based off what I’ve heard San Jose would have to take back foegele and kassian’s full contracts from Edmonton to get out of Kane if he ends up back with them

Either way, those contracts are being moved out. Probably works better for Edmonton to get SJ to retain half of his salary, if one of the two isn’t included, and another prospect is included instead to sweeten the deal.

True, but San Jose is kinda backed into a corner now, everyone knows they don’t want Kane back so no one is gonna pay to acquire him, teams will make San Jose pay to get rid of him again lol

I agree, but, EDM’s still going to have to pay in order for them to eat some of his contract. Ideally, they send Foegle, a prospect, and some picks (for retention) for him and have him producing for the next 3 years in the top 6 at $3.5M on the cap.

Only reason I think it might take even less is because San Jose has proven they wanna be done with Kane at all costs so maybe they retain half of him and take back a bad contract like foegele so they have atleast a roster player to show for the money they’re paying instead of just paying Kane to not play for them. I think sj would have to atleast entertain the idea of just receiving foegele and like a 3rd to be done with Kane again

Yes and SJ knows this and will use it to their advantage aka this deal ain't never happening. Edmonton is not a contender without Kane.
