Why would Detroit pay to take McD? 6.7 until age 37/38, 4 years? No way. Cal Foote seems promising, but not at that price. Then top it off with giving up Hronek who would rebound and fit in nicely in TB. Oh, hey, we can also throw in some picks too. Finally, take this "expirement" of Soderblom who is huge and has great hands.

This is a terrible deal for Detroit. They could offer up this same package to Arizona and probably get Chychrun, and without the albatross contract to go with him.
