So, I just thought of a deal for Sergachev and Chychrun. Maybe add a bit here and there, like 4th-7th round picks on either side, but this is the core of the deal. Sergachev has priced himself out of Tampa and could benefit from more of an opportunity elsewhere, whether that be in Arizona or another team if they choose to deal him elsewhere. Both Defenseman are 24, Sergachev is 200k more expensive for this current year, but has less term. Tampa needs a guy like Chychrun, keeps their D-core amazing, and replaces Sergachev with a guy like him. To better help the Bolts with their cap issues, I have Arizona retaining 1M.
Giroux signing: I gave Giroux a 2 year deal at 5M, because he clearly wants a cup and Tampa just got to the finals last season and he could help them win their 3rd cup in 4 years. He is also a great playmaker so I put him on a line with Colton and Perry (2 guys who are very shoot first minded). And when Kucherov inevitably gets injured and gets put on LTIR for all season, he can slot into the top 6 in his place. I feel he will likely go to either a contending team in one of the 2 Florida teams, or Ottawa because family. I feel like him going to Washington would be a perfect fit with Backstrom being gone, however, with his time in Philly, he likely won’t want to go to a divisional rival of the Flyers.
That’s all, I probably made a few mistakes, however, please let me know how I could improve, I am always trying to learn more about the signing and trading part of NHL teams. Have a nice day.
I was suggesting that they could then just flip Sergachev. Like nearly make a 3-way deal possibly. So Arizona could get the Picks/Prospects they want and another hopeful team could get Sergachev all while Tampa gets Chychrun
Tampa declines. They aren't moving several additional pieces on top of Serg in what would be a lateral move at best.
The additional pieces are purely for the retention, since the retention turns out to be 1M for 3 years or in other words, Arizona retaining 3M, which they wouldn’t do for free. This retention would just help Tampa with the signings they need to do next year with all their contracts coming off the books

Arizona won't retain for 3 years in all likelihood. I see Serg as better long-term than Chychrun anyway. McD is likely traded or, if necessary, bought out after next season to accommodate the different signings both this offseason and next(as well as trading Killorn this Summer).
