I have a hard time seeing carolina doing that simply because of Macs contract.

As crazy good McDonagh would be on the Canes, we can’t afford him, at least not without shipping out Skjei and another piece/getting retention. Bear and a 3rd for Killorn I would do though. Just make it a 3 team trade for retention.

I was thinking you could just trade Skjei and get an upgrade for a little bit more money. I wouldn't mind a Killorn for Bear and a 3rd as long as Bear doesn't want a lot of money

And that’s the thing. Skjei-Pesce is just too good a pairing to break up now. One of the best analytical pairings in the league, both in terms of a playmaking and a shutdown pairing. If the Canes were to trade Skjei, it would be for a long term investment in a potential upgrade at LD. The only one that might fit that bill and is potentially available is Chychrun.
