You know Helly and Campbell have had very similar numbers in the past three years. The only good from the trade is getting rid of Mrzarek.
But if the Leafs sign Campbell for 5m buy out Mrzarek at 1.1 per year.....that's the same cap as Hellbuyck. And the Leafs keep Niemela, Hirovean and the 1st.

You probably just looked at GAA and sv%, which, sure, they're similar, but they're heavily influenced by the team play around them. Campbell: 22 games, 8.4 GSAE, 0.392 GSAE/60

2021-22:
Hellebuyck: 66 games, 16.7 GSAE, 0.257 GSAE/60

Hellebuyck is a much, much better goalie than Jack Campbell. Please do not delude yourself thinking they are similar caliber goaltenders.
