I think you should have taken the time to say in your Team Explanation that these players are preferred targets and not that you're suggesting that they be exchanged one-for-one, because I KNOW you don't think that Victor Olofsson = the tenth overall pick in this year's draft, let alone William Nylander or Artemi Panarin or Alex DeBrincat.

For me, It is not the lack of skill and talent. It is very obvious he is a very talented hockey player, showing off his many talents especially his blistering speed, great hands, great release, and very good vision. But while all of these attributes are great, he unfortunately just does not fit Rod's system. These attributes make his price a little higher than some may believe, and this why I believe many teams would pay a good amount for his potential.

I don’t think there’s a great trade fit there. Not sure what top 6 goal scorers or young top 4 offensive minded D you have and would be willing to move which is what Canes are looking for in a Necas trade. Rust or Guentzel would be good targets but unlikely from your side. Don’t think Canes are interested in Marino or other dmen which you’d be fine dealing.

OP didn’t mention it in description but in other comments said these are just guys of interest or targets. Intention isn’t to show Necas by himself for any of these packages.

Yeah agree with you there. Fiala Necas base deal makes a ton of sense in my eyes. Think he just likes Freddy and Hartman but the list of ppl we like versus are legitimate trade candidates are very different

Yeah rust and guentzel arent getting moved. I assume OP is looking at Kapanen as sort of a cheaper nino nideriter (spelling lol) replacement. Add some speed to that incredible shutdown line.

Not really any top 6 forwards that we could move. I suppose any one of dumoulin, pettersson, or marino could be moved, not sure if that would make sense for you guys. Maybe dumoulin with retention with a couple picks? Sounds like the type of trade that wouldn't happen to divisional rivals though.

Yeah I just don’t see how trading Necas for Kap and Dumo make us better. We can find similar guys in FA without giving up Necas. Think we’d want a top 4 D who can run a PP (if tda leaves) or a top 6 proven goal scorer if we do move him. So just hard to see canes and pens as trade partners in this scenario.

I would say a touch more than that. Considering Forsberg is looking at 9.5 aav and meier is younger than him I would say mid to high 8s for meier
