I keep seeing this Marino and Blueger trade idea and I just think it’s terrible for Pittsburgh. I mean let’s be real here the pens moved up 6 spots in the draft but had to give up a good bottom six center and a top four d man to do it.

I can’t imagine trading Marino and the 21st pick to move up a few spots. It doesn’t make sense. Like if you were getting the 9th pick and a prospect I’d make that swap, but moving up to 16? I just don’t c it.

Plus a high 2nd round pick, a early 4th, Murray, and cap space.

I assumed that compensation was for Blueger tbh. Murray doesn’t have much value tho as far as I’m aware.

Don’t trade Marino for scraps or you may have to watch him lift the cup in another teams uniform. I had to watch that **** last night after praying the isles won the lottery all of last season.

Marino isn’t Toews but there is a lot we could all learn from that deal. Starting with not trading a legit top four d man for what feels like 2 second round picks Lmao.

You are all missing the importance of the Riga, Latvia connection.
OK, let's get serious here, that would be a great deal for Buffalo.
Blueger can PK, win FO, hit and has a low OZ%, pairing with Girgensons would give Buffalo a really good fourth line with Okposo.
I have not watched the Penguins so I cannot comment on the value of Marino, it appears he would be a good addition to the Sabres.
@Isles5513 I do not think you need to worry that Marino will be lifting the cup for Buffalo in the near future, but I understand the analogy.
@gpmack95 I presume "*Highest of their 2023 2nd round picks" means the best of the three picks?
There would need to be changes. What if Olofsson and Zucker were added?
Victor to add scoring and Jason to reduce the Penguins cap, would that make the trade closer?
