Créé par: ArmchairGM14
Équipe: 2022-23 Oilers d'Edmonton
Date de création initiale: 26 juin 2022

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Vincent Deharnais will be given every opportunity to make the team and fill the RD3 slot.
- Mark Pysyk signed as 6/7D in case Deharnais struggles and doesn't make the team out of camp.

Barrie, Foegle and Kassian deals made to free up cap space

SJ retains Kane's rights and trades him back to Edm with 2 million x 3 years retained.

Deal made with Carolina to acquire Necas RFA rights for Puljujarvi RFA rights and then subsequently signed.

Ville Husso solidifies the goaltending on a 3 year deal which allows Skinner time to continue to develop with the hope that he slides into a number 1 role at some point within the next couple years.

Canes pass. PJ has better advanced analytics, but Necas has better scoring ability. PJ could even put up 40 points when he flanked both McDavid and Draisaitl, yet Necas was able to put up 40 points even when he got dropped to the 4th line.

I love how people say something is "likely " and make 6 trades and don't even have a full roster

The roster is full. 7 D are on the roster but you could move Pysyk down and bring up a player from the minors if you wish....

You don't even have 4 forward lines and nhl teams don't carry 20 players for the full season. 35 players played for edmonton this year

SJ can afford to wait. Edm gets off to a bad start and Holland or someone else panics, worst case SJ waives him again and somebody claims the whole contract. Better than retaining

Pysyk was left there to illustrate that he would slide into the 3RD slot if Deharnais does not make the team. As i mentioned above, the roster is full and one of the D would be placed back to the minors with another winger brought up. As far as your 20 player max I am not sure you know what you are talking about. This is from the NHL website...
"Prior to the start of the season, each Club must submit to the NHL its "Opening Day Playing Roster" which shall be comprised of not more than 23 players. Each Club must have a roster of at least 20 players, composed of 18 skaters and two goaltenders. Players on Injured Reserve do not count in the 23-man limit"

Yea, players get hurt without going on Injured Reserve, players get sick and players get scratched. Not gonna work.

Don't you think a 2nd and 5th round pick would be more enticing to take to retain 2 mil x 3 years rather then waiving and receiving no compensation? There is also no certainty that he gets claimed and he gets sent back to the minors where they are covering the cost of the whole contract. They would also not want him anywhere near their NHL or AHL team.

When they sent him to the mimors before they told him to stay home. could do the same thing now. Edmonton thinks SJ has to trade him only to them. 6M in retention for 2 middling picks or having a clean book. Not sure the clean book is not better considering where SJ is.

That could get you Kane without retention. Sharks have more leverage here than you let on.

Puljujarvi isnt worth Necas. Ive seen this trade so many damn times on Oilers forums. He's worth more than Zacha by lot but its less than Necas for sure.

The arbitration rights and higher performance favour Necas. Carolina also has the same cap crunch so I doubt they are buying Puljujarvi this high with Jesse's arbitration rights

No go for Canes. Young second line center for underperforming wing? Not a chance.

I also keep wondering why everyone thinks Detroit will take on salary for middle 6 forwards and pay for that? Plenty of middle 6 on the roster.

Canes pass - oil need to add but there’s not a ton that you’d be willing to offer to match what canes are looking for. Bad trade fit partners.
