Description

Thoughts on Provorov? Think he would be a good fit with Parayko? Think he can rediscover his game a bit here? Prefer him at his peak over Chychrun because of health. What would it take to get him/What would a trade look like? Any better options? Scandella in LTIR (add him to the package or find a place to move him). Barbie for JP seems good, seen that on a few AGMs. Perron seems like a key piece to the team and beloved but outside of a 1 year, a cap hit of 4-6 mill feels hard to fit after this season and think we'd be better off getting defensive help. There a hockey trade to be made for a 4th line center, a free agent or do we make do? Vladi to Boston for Debrusk and Fredric could be interesting and make room for a Perron signing albeit at a discount. Likely solves some of the bottom six questions too. Idk, spitballing

Yeah I figure the package would be a bit more palatable and Chychruns health is a concern to me at this point where as Provorov is a tank.

I'm okay with that. Scotty has a ton of potential but he seems like the obvious piece. We've already got a small pp specialist in Krug locked up and with Porvorov plenty of options for the 2nd unit. Scotty a 1st + another prospect not named Neighbours? Maybe Kostin. But I like the idea of hoarding big russians lol

Probably right. For some reason his issues feel really similar to some of Paraykos from what I've read. About him needing a strong/veteran partner, ups and downs. Had found this article describing his play and this part felt eerily similar to a recent Parayko incident lol "With 2:26 remaining in the final frame, Provorov unwisely iced the puck to gift Vegas a draw in the Flyers zone. Just 41 seconds later, he inadvertently sent a puck over the glass and was assessed a delay of game penalty, not only allowing the Knights to pull goaltender Robin Lehner, but also giving them 1:45 of time on a 6-on-4 power play. "

Not to defend him and say he played well or anything, but Provorov's big issue is that the Flyers didnt really have a system for most of the year (also playing with Justin Braun for most of the year lol). He said that himself and with a better system/structure you would see much better results. (hence why I think he will do well under Torts)

It’s a big risk, he’s had like one season where he was a legit top-pair guy. Could be a fun swing, but pretty darn scary

Provy needs a decent system and a good partner to thrive. If you have both he is a top pair guy. Considering he is on a decent deal for 3 more years the starting price is probably a 1st round pick + a higher end D prospect.

I definitely think he still has the skill set to be at worst a super solid second pair guy. His ceiling is still high for sure if he can get back to it like you and others have said with a solid partner and system.
