Well for s Stars fan like me it's pretty bad. Hoffman and Faksa are equally bad contracts, but one of them have cheap buyout, and Dobby+1st for Petry is not what we're looking for.

By this deal Dallas incurs an additional $13 million in cap over the next 3 years and acquires a 36-year-old defenseman and 33-year-old forward at the cost of a first-round draft pick. I don't think that's a good business decision because that same money could probably deliver better on-ice performance from other players.

They are delusional but GMs are known to make bad decisions all the time to try and keep imaginary windows open. Worst part is apparently Petry played college with Bill’s son, we had no chance at avoiding another cap handcuff.

I expect Petry to be here next year, I have the same feeling I had when Suter rumors happened but he’s double the price and not even 20% better, and I know Nill will actually pay. So just hoping no first or former firsts going the other way.
