Foegele reunites with Francis, Fleury with the Pens. You explained those bad deals for those teams but what about the Ducks?

Evander Kane wants no more than $7,000,000 x 3 years from Edmonton, he doesn't want a long term deal there.

Dont know what is so bad about that deal for the Ducks, Steel is a 4th liner on a non playoff team. Ducks get an 2 early rnd picks and some Muscle.... Kassian's cap is a non issue for the Ducks but is the reason why they are getting TWO early rnd picks instead of one.

That would get it done value wise I suppose, but even still. Why would they do it. Just cause it makes sense value wise doesn't mean its a good trade...

Pens still say no. Try adding Mcdavid in...

Havent heard anything about him not wanting long term in Edmonton. Pretty sure he is going for as much money as he can possibly get, whichever way he can get it. I would even go as far to say he might take $6millx5. Edmonton also keeps him close to home.

He's 24 which means he's running out of time but he still has some. Kassian is no better and will likely have a bigger contract. So if Anaheim gives up on Steel and hope on getting a first rounder for him they might as well just take the two picks for him without Kassian.

Jarry is on the last yr of his contract and then he will want a pay day. If they can get good value for him in a trade AND still secure a good goaltending tandem in free agency why wouldnt they??
And FYI, if the Oilers are trading McDavid for a goalie they better be getting Vasilevskiy ++ in return.

At 6m though he would probably want 8 years from Edmonton of he's looking to maximize his earnings.

I don't expect him to but i'm sure that's what Verbeek wants, and not necessarily a pick but a way to salvage Steel's dropped stock. If he's taking Kassian you bet he'll ask for a first and 3rd. If that won't happen, he moves him during the season when there is a chance that he increases his stock or makes it clear that there is no hope for him in Anaheim

Guys . . . we'd be THRILLED to get a second and a third for Sam Steel. His best year anywhere was his last year in juniors. We'll take the sure thing of the two picks now rather than hope that he suddenly improves this season. And Kassian is more than a meaningless throw-in: we're thin at RW and a little soft everywhere, so Kassian would be a decent in-and-out bottom-6er.

This was a really well-envisioned and well-constructed trade, because Edmonton needs to shed some cap.

While I agree that a 2nd+3rd is probably the best return Steel would fetch, I do think Verbeek would want more but might settle but not with Kassian in the deal. I could be wrong though. Teams will likely ask Edmonton for a sweetener to move Kassian just like Mrazek out of Toronto. I don't know when the Ducks plan to compete but the Pacific is only getting stronger, so if they are going to help the Oilers I would expect Anaheim to want a higher value than just a 2nd for Steel/ a sweetener if they are helping with cap.

It wasn't the worst of the original 3 deals, but just wanted to pick on it because it didn't have an odd reasoning mentioned like Seattle and Pittsburgh did for them to make deals.

Jarry starts with a 1st and a solid prospect along with a young roster player
For example
If you mention Yamamoto then we’re talking…
Puljjjjjjarvi absolutely not

First off the Mcdavid thing was sarcasm. Read the room.

Secondly, this makes no sense. Trade your 2x All-Star goalie who is just entering his prime away for Future assets and an average middle 6 winger, when they're a team that is trying to compete now?? There is just no way this trade makes sense for the penguins, even if you added in the first. This is just flat out a bad trade dude...
