Past first round pick does not equal first round pick or good assets. Wanna know some first round picks by Vancouver? Tanner Pearson, Jason Dickinson, Luke Schenn. We don’t know if Robertson will pan out. He isn’t even an A prospect. Kerfoot is a rental that we don’t need

Robertson is only 20 years old and was a point a player in the AHL last year which is the best league in world in developing players for the NHL.

What are you talking about in scraps?.........Robertson was a 1rst round pick, a 1rst round pick, Hirvonen solid prospect and Kerfoot who had decent year are not scraps for 1 year rental of Miller.

Robertson was a 2nd, Hiroven was a 2nd and is a undersized centre (1/2 ppg liga) and kerfoot for the money to work!!! this trade sucks for the canucks. we want quality, and if you wont give it, we will gladly go to carolina, to new york, to los angeles, to anywhere that isnt toronto.

I really the NY Rangers are Canucks best bet for Miller as they may think he can push them over the top next year.

I think it will be Washington, they have a very good RD prospect, they have McMichael or Lapierre and a 1st and 2nd and the trade is done.

Rathbone is the real deal.........Canucks need to get him up to the big team fast and let him quarterback their 2nd line PP...........Incredible skater......Rathbone and Hughes would give Canucks tremendous speed and offensive from the defence like Colorado.

Makes sense if Backstrom is out and they still want to compete for Cup.

What do you think is a fair offer for Miller who is esentially a 1 year rental and can walk from the acquiring team in 1 year?

See that is your problem right there . You treat him as a rental and come with a weak offer. He should offer some team willing to invest in him 6 good years.

99 point players dont get traded usually either. probably be along the lines of the seth jones trade

The Seth Jones trade is widely considered an overpayment. You have far too high expectations

everyone knew that he was going to be this going in, so that a mistake.

we know what miller is.

hes probably going to washington and a package I could see happening would be Iorio, Lapierre, 1st, 2nd.

Jones was great this year, im confused on what you mean by "he was going to be."

The issue is it cost a lot

Miller is 29........so no assurance he has 6 good years left in his tank.

He is coming off a career season......so buyer beware.

Canucks reject but don't spit the Niagara Falls in your face. The least they can do is spare you that after yet another failure in the first round

I absolutely love how losing in the playoffs is somehow worse than not making the playoffs. If your season high light is watching a better team lose in the playoffs after your regular season was a failure, then what does that say about you?

It's quite amazing that TO took Tampa to 7 and got robbed by bad calls while Vancouver was a mediocre team and yet all Leaf players are bad and all Canuck players are better. It's weird how their records were so different

To be fair, you guys think 1 year of Miller (he's a pure rental) is worth about 300% more than it is. If I was Dubas and Miller is available, I would offer Robertson (a great prospect), Niemela (highly touted RD prospect), Kerfoot and a 1st for Miller at half price. That's a good deal of futures for Vancouver for a guy they aren't likely to resign.

Damn bro does that mean ALL your players are good? Yes you have good players but I don’t see great players in this deal that Vancouver would want. Try agaon

It's definitely not what I think would be enough to get it done. Unless your GM values Hirvonen, replace him with Niemela and add a 2nd and retain half of Miller's cap and that is a good deal. Anything more and you are just out to lunch. Miller is a rental, unless you can find a dummy GM who is willing to sign him long term on his biggest ever contract at the age of 30, you're expectations are ridiculous

Lots of players coming off career years and Buyer Beware . Kardri Nichushkin Mikeyev Bratt Pettersson and so on and so on. It won't change the fact if you want that player you are still going to need to pay a hefty price and your offer was not hefty.

If you’re suggesting Kerfoot Robertson Niemala, a first and a second for Miller 50% retained, I think the Canucks should take that

Well I wouldn't send the 2nd, personally but I think 1 year of Miller at such a low cap hit would certainly make TO absolutely terrifying.

He was a defensive liability this year.
they thought that they would be better this year and his contract reflects that, there is a reason he didnt get a norris vote

No he wasn't, he was average defensively. The problem with Chicago is the team literally had zero structure. Under Colliton the structure he ran had a negative impact on the game. Then under King there was improvement simply because zero structure was better than a negative structure. As a Canucks fan you should have a complete understanding of what a difference coaching can make right now

I would rather offer a 2nd instead of Niemela but would send him if it meant we got Miller for this coming season. It would lower the Leafs cap and also give a major upgrade up front. Anything more than that package and I am declining.

No and yes,

No I dont think that his problem was colliton, because he was fired after 12 games and still wasnt great, theres a reason that the hawks PP was ~19% its because their QB was Jones and he didnt have defensive numbers to back anything.

yes coaching changes things, but colliton wasnt around long enough.
