Yeah Myers isnt a cap dump. Hes overpaid maybe by a few million but is a fine minutes eating #4. Next year his contract will have value since its a 6mil cap hit but only 1mil salary after the signing bonus.

I agree somewhat with this. Myers is a minute muncher and a decent # 4 . Definitely overpaid but I see about 50 % of the proposals on here from Canuck fans trying to move him so maybe he is considered a cap dump.

This is not ideal at all, more the opposite.

Karlsson has been on a steady decline since his great 1st year with Vegas. With 5 more years left of his contract that's a lot to take on especially if he doesn't work well with a less talented forward group compared to Vegas. Also, Vegas is cap crunched so I think you could get him for cheaper... even though I don't want him. I'd rather Martinez. Same thing goes for Kubalik for steady decline. Georgiev also hasn't played well as of recently so that's a bit much of a contract, but I'd be fine with having him as a backup with him being young enough to grow. Myers can be had for cheap, but he's not that big of a cap dump. The Hronek trade is fine but I think we could get a bit more since RDs are always worth more.

Canucks are probably open to retaining on Myers to unload him if necessary, but it won't cost ^that much to unload his full salary

I can assure you none of this will happen.

Canucks are not that desperate to move Myers. He is our best RD which is already a position of weakness and eats up a lot of minutes. We don’t have anybody to fill that role so we definitely won’t be paying two second round picks and a prospect to move him. If we move him, we won’t be paying assets to the other team
