Quoting: Pens3lieve
forget oilers fans... i'm diehard black and gold and lowkey that trade doesn't work for either side...
hextall has committed to jarry and unless we have a viable replacement he's not going anywhere any time soon....
campbell is overrated but will get a bigger contract then that for sure...
id be interested in Puljjjjjjjarvi (sp) but not involving jarry...
doubt EDM wants to move RNH also
RNH has control over this, given his NMC, and it seems highly unlikely he would agree to the trade. He's the longest tenured Oiler and after suffering years of mediocrity he must be pretty excited about the future in Edmonton. Surely the discounted salary and maximum term he agreed to are indications that he intends to retire an Oiler.
I think Ken Holland would prefer to hang onto Puljujarvi, as long as there is willingness to accept reasonable contractual terms. Another "show-me", seems to be in the best interest of the team, and its difficult to project whether JP is willing to accept that. If he's not, then there is a significant risk of another GM tendering an offer sheet. I would not be surprised to learn that there have already been some pretty direct conversations between Holland the JP's agent.
Edmonton is probably looking for a starting goaltender, and I suspect Holland will look for the most advantageous combination of team control, experience, performance, and AAV. Jarry certainly presents as a very good target, but there are others that might be equally suitable, or an even better fit.
