Your'e giving up more for Puljujarvi and he's only being moved because they cant afford him, according to Rishaug. Its dumb but that the narrative. GSVA 2.1 for Jesse, on the other hand, PZ wins above replacement is 0.8. If PZ is not on the top lines he's not effective. He had career highs in minutes for the Devils last year. Oilers need cheap depth not expensive miscast players like PZ.

There are a couple of issues here with the Habs trade.

1. The cap, we are only 2 mil to the good with cap and we already need to resign Romy and Pitlick (will cost about 4.5 mil total on short term deals). Therefore we don't have room to take on Tatar's contract and resign Zacha. I would love to do it though.

2. We already have too many wingers so we need to move out more than we take back. If we are getting 2 wingers back we have to move out at least 3.

Puljujarvi seems like a guy that Fitz will be all over if he's available. Fitz is an analytics nerd, wants to get bigger/heavier and he's the right age. Although I agree that Zacha probably doesn't add much value to a trade for him.

The cap is indeed a mess as well in 2023 and too many wingers is an issue this season. Guys like Ylonen, Roy, Harvey Pinard need some room. Then Farrell in 2023. There isa lot of teams trying to move salary. That's why Puljujarvi, Petry, and Zacha go for a loss .

We can make this work without too much issue cap wise it is the roster spots that cause the biggest issue.
