This is the approach I’d take and hope Stevie takes. They really just need to be bad for 1 more year. A few changes:

-Larkin probably gets 8 years
-Bert may be looking for more term as well,
-Rather go a younger goalie with upside; Husso or Giorgiev for example
-For Zad’s sake, I think you try to equip him with a better 2nd line free agent center. Avoid bidding wars and high term, if that doesn’t get him then for sure run with Suter and hope a better coach can get more from Zad
-Only signing 1 of Cole or Edler; think Cole is more likely to sign with the Wings

I'm good with this, and it's what I expect. The V-Suter-Z line was good in their limited time together last year, and I would love to see them get extended time together this year.

Gagner is rumored to be signing in Toronto. Doubt he is back in Detroit.

Good with Larkin and Bert getting an extra year each.

I’d like Husso but I think someone is going to overpay him so I went with an older guy.

Also agree about 2C but again I think other teams will overpay Strome, Trochek, etc. I’d be happy with a trade for D Strome in Chicago or something similar.

Cole is probably more likely but I’d rather overpay Edler for a year if possible.

There’s always the potential for Husso to be another Greiss anyways.

True, my hopes are Stevie shoots for a B or C option we can nab while everyone is going for the A option (probably Kadri).

100% I’d rather have Edler, content with Cole or whoever else. Honestly see whoever we get as a plug-in for next free agency anyways.
