I think you are over valuing Blake Wheeler. Yes he is a good player still but comes with a very large cap hit and has been getting slower and slower as the years go on. A Wheeler for Van Reimsdyk swap would potentially be an option. But you definitely not going to get a 2nd round pick in the return package

Eh I don’t think so. Wheeler is awful defensively and is viewed as a locker room cancer. Bad contract as well and I can’t see the Flyers wanting that

If Trotz goes to WPG I could see Josh Bailey being a name to watch. He loved him on Long Island no matter what the fans thought. Don't see why Lou would have any allegiance to him considering Bailey was already left unprotected at expansion. If the Islanders are trying to land a UFA or find a hockey trade, Bailey is definitely expendable. Wouldn't take Wheeler's cap hit straight up for Bailey, but the foundation for a trade is there

I like wheeler, but if you think you’re not retaining on these deals you might be in for a rude awakening. Guys value isn’t exactly positive
